Paradiso FTW!

We'll get to the title later, we always do. My vacation started on Friday. Had to give my kids away for a week. It's sad really. My heart aches every time I think of them. I wish they could be here but to fly them all down would be like an extra $1800. Who has that anymore? Not me!! So anyway I am now in San Antonio Texas. It really took a long time to get here. Even on a plane. We'll start from the beginning.

Saturday Nite Lincoln Nebraska -- Bob Devaney sports center -- Our boys won state basketball for the second year in a ROW! Can you believe it? They were not even 'favored' to win, but they sure did!! The other team is a Catholic school which can recruit so everyone was so afraid of this 6'5" 'powerhouse' they had on the team. I wonder if anyone else out there knows just because you're tall does not mean you can sink three's! Everyone thinks tall people can play basketball because they are tall. No, that's not how it works people. NOT how it works. It's a skill sport. Like all others. Think it over.

So that got over at 1230a and then we had to head to Omaha to the hotel before the flight on Sunday morning (at 620a), So basically we didn't get to bed until 215am and had to be up at 4am to leave the hotel at 5 to get to the airport in time for our flight. Good thing we did too because the lines were INSANE!!

So of course I was nervous getting on a plane again for the first time since '06, but once we got in the air it wasn't so bad. But I was starving. Completely starving at this point because all I had eaten was queso from Qdoba (and not much of it) and some popcorn. They gave us a Coke, but no pretzels! We got freaking pretzels last time. What the hell? So when we finally landed in Denver (that is a long 1 hr 5 minutes) I got a sandwich at the airport ($8) and it was good, but not good enough. It made me feel blah. I needed something hot.

So We get on another flight and we land in San Antonio. It's beautiful here. The weather, the buildings.. All of it. Beautiful! The people are super SUPER friendly. You're thinking 'well they are here too..' No, they go above and beyond friendly here. Like most people where I've been before (ND, SD, NE, CA) just 'do their job' and there's always someone griping somewhere. Not here. Everyone is cheery and most of them are funny too. I don't know what it is. Must be the year round sunshine! I could deal with that.

So our hotel is all ritzy, it's the Westin. Bryan said it's only $159 a nite. I'm really shocked by that. It's on the Riverwalk and it's just gorgeous. I mean the gift shop sells 'real' pearls and diamonds. This is not Motel 8.

So the Riverwalk is a long walk. I mean I have never walked so much in 29 years! I was so afraid I was going to gain like 30lbs here because Bryan is ready to 'eat out' 2x a nite just to try stuff.. and you don't because all you do is walk. It's a 10 minute walk anywhere (this is minimum).. and an hour OR MORE wait to get seated. THEN there's the boat tour. Let me tell you I think people wait up to 6 hours for that tour or more. IN LINE. You don't go back to your room and wait.. You wait in a line for 3-6 hours. When they pass I try get a little info. What I gather is that 10 people fall into the river a day. I wish I had the patience to wait 6 hours, but I don't.

So we ate at Casa Rio last nite. Let me tell you. BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH.. We have 2 better Mexican restaurants in Grand Forks. Everyone told me 'be ready for REAL Mexican food.' Well, if someone blindfolded me and told me that Paradiso just got a new owner. I'd believe it. Because it was no different than what you get on South Washington. Notta. In fact both Bryan and I prefer Paradiso over whatever that was. So. Paradiso (for the win) - the title!! :D You get it now!!

So I'm exhausted. I'm not meant to travel I don't think, but it's been fun so far. I'll blog more later. I'm tired. It's only 8. So forgive me for the lack of words.

THIS is my first HUB! :)

http://hubpages.com/profile/Kelly1106 (this is my profile, you can find all the articles I have written *here*). I have only written one, but they will fly when I'm in San Antonio! I will be alone for hours.

http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Molloscum-Monster
This is the direct link to the article, without visiting my profile!

My Hub Score right now is SIXTY FIVE!! With only one article, that means I am pretty darn good. I don't have any followers yet, but have all positive reviews so it won't be long. I'm sure. I've had 19 strangers read my article!! No complaints here! More blogs = higher traffic = higher Hub score.. etcetc.

*bows*

These are the pictures I posted on Facebook last nite, here they are for grandma and grandpa who don't have Facebook yet! Give it time! They will! They were taken yesterday on a 54 degree day. I was freezing, but the kids were comfortable! I know some of you will have a heart attack about Jordyn not having a helmet, well, we only have one and there was no stopping her! She is a real go getter. 'Extrovert' is an understatement. Just wait til summer and you will all see! Ryder was ready to go inside after less than ten minutes. He waved, said bye and headed towards the door. My kind of guy! I hate being outside until it's at least 65 and in the afternoon when the sun is right above our house. I probably won't be blogging much in the next week! I know, sad! Isn't it? But I have so much to do before San Antonio, not to mention state basketball. My head is SPINNING! I'm a procrastinator. Ya deal with it!

Today was the last straw with the TV! I always have PBS kids on in the background and yes, it has taught my kids a lot.. But when I called for Jordyn and Ryleigh and neither of them even looked. I went in there, shut it off and told them to go downstairs, read a book, be creative! They of course moaned and groaned at me but now they're down there dancing to Taylor Swift, I can't complain.

Today is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mommy!! :) Wish I could be there with you, and we could go to Paradiso and I'd make you wear the big sweaty sombrero!! I lived in GF for 23 years and never got that stupid hat. I threatened people each time. Even the servers at some point! I'm not one for public humiliation. Though, once they did sing to me at Applebee's and they sang the 'nicer' version of their song. Not the one that just sings about you being old. So, that was nice. If I could have Paradiso right now. I would do just about anything.. My mouth waters for the chips and salsa and the big ass burritos with dry fried rice and a side of sour cream (that costs extra). It just screams GRAND FORKS. Mi Mexico can pack and leave, there's just no room for it with Paradiso and Mexican Village. My dream day. Would be lunch at Paradiso and dinner at China Garden. I would do that every day if I could. Mmmmmmmmmmm *drool*!
Time to go clean the mess Bryan made in the kitchen. He made a broccoli soup for his coworkers (they take turns) and it is just yum! My most valuable appliance is my fridge, it beeps if open too long which means Ryder is in there being naughty. He is always naughty. In fact..I will say, 'Ryder, are you being naughty?' and he'll say 'naughty!' he knows!!

CHEESER!!

From birth Ryder has had a few nicknames. 'ChayChay' - 'BudBud' .. You know where we're going with this. Well, he's got a new one now.. It's CHEESER. Can you guess why? He's master of the cheesey SHIT eating grin I mean look at that. If that doesn't spell trouble. I don't know what does. Yes he's a mess in both pictures because that's how he eats and us moms think it's cute. So there.

We went to the Ritz reunion dealie yesterday. I didn't get many pictures because Bryan thinks that he's the only person allowed to take pictures because his camera is 1 million + dollars and no one else's is. One of the kids is being all cute so I take out my camera too.. His comment 'what are you doing?' Oh I don't know. Trying to take a picture of the creature I carried, birthed, breastfed, wiped butts for and raised for 3 years.. Ya know, just that! He takes them and never uploads them. Not to be vile but PISS on that camera. It's just too inconvenient! I always upload my pics. BAZINGA!

11 days until the 'fun' begins. Ravenna Boys Basketball goes to state!! *insert cheer here* and they win..*but of course* .. (barely). This is my prediction. I will be right, I am always right. My mom is Ms. Cleo (long story) .. So that's the 11th and 12th.. The 13th, we stay overnite in Omaha before flying to San Antonio on the 14th. Hope I don't get murdered down there. Us small town folk are scared of the big cities..Ya'll come back now, ya hear? ;) I kill myself. I kill most of you too.. Otherwise you wouldnt be reading (thank you 4 readers)!! Tell me to get my ass to Hub Pages and get paid for my talent, c'mon. I need a shove. I always 'need a shove'.

Okay. I'm sick. Sick of being sick. Been SICK since Wednesday. Full body aches, lingering cough and blahblahblah. Jordyn has it too. Ryleigh puked again Sunday morning. I know you're supposed to be all cuddling your sick child, but it's really hard when all you can think of is.. 'will she puke in my face?' Puke is gross. I can deal with a lot, but that just tops the cake of all things 'gross'.

In other news. It snowed another inch here last nite. Was FIFTY Friday, now it snows. That disgusts me. I hate snow. HATE. I am DONE WITH THE WHITE STUFF! I'm moving to Florida, you all will miss me, but you can read about it on my blog. Okay, not really because Florida has big bugs and big bugs > snow. Then there's hurricanes > snow and tourists > snow. Tourists are all sorts of irritating, walking around in their fanny packs, visors and disposable cameras. That's why I live in Ravenna now. No tourists. NO PEOPLE there is more in Ravenna than just a cheese plant (I can't believe someone said that, he needs his face shoved.. *calm*).. Anyhow, we have a grocery store, pharmacy, great school, salons, bars, gas stations..You name it. We just don't have a stop light. They're pesky anyway. No one here stops at the Stop Signs.. It's all 'California' stops here. Surprised no one is dead. Someone is dead, just no one from a car crash from not stopping in Ravenna.

I am so ready to go home, but it has to warm up first so I can drive around with the windows down and look cool. I'm fly like that. Like I said, I just love and MISS Grand Forks. Don't go all HOOHAH on me because I said a few good things about R-town. My home is in the Forks. THE GRAND Forks none the less!! When I get home. My confidence soars. It's weird. It's like I'm untouchable there. There are some things I hate here.. Like women who chase married men. Yeah that, it's a town sport I think. Casey Kasem was talking about a celebrity chasing after a man.. 'who's married'.. My first thought 'she should move to Ravenna!!' Haha. Kelly for the kill!
Well, the Olympics are over now so I can actually watch shows I enjoy! Thank God because that's all we do here in Ravenna. Watch TV and make cheese! We are the CHEESERS!! No, that's just Ryder! Maybe that's why this town is full of mice.. Because we be all about the cheese biz! Did you know that the Ravenna cheese plant ONLY makes the cheese that goes into the crust of the cheesey crust pizzas for Pizza Hut ? Next time you eat a slice. Think of me. Think of me looking skinny and blonde too, cause that's how I prefer it.
Gooooooooooooo Biggggggggggggggg Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuue!
GO BIG BLUE!
I'll be at work tonite so receiving the score through texts! In case anyone cares. I will update later. I'm hungry!! Byes!
Oh for those of you interested in my favorite blogger (Michael K). His blog is http://dlisted.com/
It's a Celebrity Blog and has vile language so if you're going to sulk in the corner about an F-Bomb don't bother. I just love his writing style. I think he's my non white gay brother. Seriously.
